The Surgical Technologist performs essential support duties in the operating room, including preparing and providing surgical instruments to the surgical team. They coordinate patient care with healthcare professionals while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to organizational standards. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic life support certification, and experience or training in surgical technology.
Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualifications: High-School Diploma or GED are required.
- Licensure: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
- Experience: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.
- Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
