The Oncology Radiation Physician provides full-time radiation therapy services at a free-standing cancer center, managing consults, daily clinical operations, and minor procedures for adult hospital-based patients. Responsibilities include delivering advanced radiation treatments such as conventional radiotherapy, 3D conformal therapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy. The role requires board certification or eligibility in radiation oncology, a Michigan medical license, and BLS certification, with a shared 24-hour call schedule.
Coverage Needed:
- Start Date: December 2025
- End Date: Ongoing coverage every week (Full Time)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Call Schedule: 24-hour call shared with one other physician
- Specific Dates:
- Dec 8-12
- Dec 15-19
Clinical Details:
- Practice Setting: Free-Standing Cancer Center
- Trauma Level/Designation: Level 2
- Call Ratio: 1:2
- Number of Physicians in Practice: 2
- Support Staff: 1 Nurse Practitioner
- Average Outpatient Volume: 10-15 patients per day
- Patient Population: Adult & Hospital Based
- EMR Systems: Aria & Epic
- The providers will be seeing consults, minor procedures, and covering on-treatment and daily clinical operations, as well as few minor procedures
Requirements:
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology
- Michigan State License or IMLC LOQ
- BLS Certification
- Must be available to provide Full Time ongoing coverage
- Required Procedures: Conventional Radiotherapy, 3D Radiotherapy, External Beam Radiation (3D-CRT, IGRT, IMRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy
- Required Duties: Order tests, order images, prescribe treatments
