Job Description:
The Registered Nurse - PCU will provide comprehensive care to patients in a mixed unit handling Med/Surg to IMC levels, with responsibilities spanning medication administration, line management, and telemetry monitoring among others. The role includes an expectation to manage a variety of patient conditions and support staff within the unit.
Responsibilities:
- Administer a variety of oral, IV, IM, and SQ medications, titratable vasoactive drips, TPN/tube feeding, and transfusions.
- Manage peripheral IV, midline, PICC, and central line access, along with various tubes and collection devices.
- Provide preventive and restorative skin and wound care, along with telemetry monitoring.
Requirements:
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.
- Completion of an approved nursing education program; Registered Nurse license by the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
- 1 year of nursing experience in PCU, comfort with MedSurg assignments, and EPIC experience required.
