Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Intermediate Care/Cardiac Stepdown (IMCU)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (option to extend up to 16 weeks)
• Start Dates: 12/15/2025 or 1/12/2026
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Employment Type: Travel RN contract
• On-Site Position
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,780 - $1,910 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in cardiac stepdown or IMCU (travel nursing experience required)
• Active Virginia or Compact Registered Nurse License (required at start)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Complete work history with explanations for gaps over 90 days
• Skills checklist and RN license copy required for submission
• Ability to work 2 of 3 winter holidays
• Preferred: Charge nurse experience and Cerner EMR proficiency
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a teaching hospital environment
• Mentor and support students and new hires, fostering a culture of learning
• Accurately document patient care and interventions using Cerner EMR
• Participate in orientation and ongoing nursing education
• Comply with hospital policies, including holiday and weekend scheduling requirements
