Job Details:

• Work 36 hours per week in a 3x12 schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PCU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Previous charge experience strongly preferred
• Patient ratio experience of 4-6 required
• Every other weekend coverage required based on operational needs
• Float to Telemetry and/or Medical Surgical units as needed (1:5/1:6 ratio)
• No call required
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Skills include central line care, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, telemetry monitoring, and hemodialysis management
• Work with adult patients with diagnoses including CHF, diabetes, COPD/asthma, sepsis, pneumothorax, ESRD/dialysis, hypertension, ETOH withdrawal, and general surgery patients
• Equipment includes bedside monitoring for up to 8 patients, ultrasound IV, cardiac monitoring, and lift equipment

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 15-bed Intermediate Care Unit with a daily census of 15 patients, providing comprehensive care for adults requiring stepdown level monitoring. The facility offers extensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support. The unit specializes in managing patients with complex medical conditions requiring continuous monitoring and specialized procedures such as chest tubes, PCA infusions, and non-titratable drips.
