Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Critical Care Float RN with at least two years’ experience, required certifications, and previous travel nursing background.
Responsibilities
- Position covers the Critical Care Float Pool in an acute care hospital setting
- Floating required between main campus and a sister facility 15 minutes away, working Med/Surg only
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Shift is night, 3x12 hours from 18:00 to 06:00
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Use of MediTech Expanse charting system
- Specialized procedures include para/thoracentesis, intubation, central line and art line placement, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and care for ventilated patients
- Must be comfortable floating between two facilities within 15 minutes of each other
- Member of rapid response team in collaboration with multiple departments
- Flu shot required if working during flu season (October 1 - March 31)
- Employee’s choice of scrub color
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- Time off requests limited to one, must be finalized at submission, with no RTO allowed in first two weeks, maximum of 10 days and no full calendar weeks
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license (pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
- Previous traveler experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
- NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
- Experience with MediTech Expanse EMR preferred
