Position: MRI Technologist Shift: 13-week assignment, 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM; one weekend shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) every 6 weeks Preferred Experience: Philips MRI Job Summary: Operates MRI scanners to obtain diagnostic images of specified body parts, ensuring high-quality images for radiologist interpretation. Functions independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities: Greet and verify patient identity, review medical history, medications, allergies, and procedure orders. Explain MRI procedures to patients, answer questions, and address concerns. Screen patients for contraindications (e.g., metallic implants) and prepare patients for scans, including IV setup for contrast media when needed. Position patients, perform scans, and archive images per protocol; utilize coils, gating devices, and MRI computer systems effectively. Administer contrast media safely and reconcile medications to prevent interactions. Assist coworkers in other modalities as appropriate. Ensure patient and staff safety; use proper techniques for patient movement and monitor for risks or emergencies. Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, including hand hygiene, patient identification, labeling, and medication administration. Respond appropriately in medical, fire, tornado, or other emergency situations.
