Cath Lab RN – Job OverviewThis position is for a Cath Lab Registered Nurse working in a 2-suite cardiac cath lab that averages about 6 cases per day. The unit mainly handles coronary, interventional radiology (IR), and vascular procedures (no EP procedures at this location).
Key Responsibilities- Sedate, monitor, and circulate patients during procedures
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses
- Manage cardiac drips and medications
- Recognize and manage sedation reversal if needed
- No scrubbing required (Cath Lab Techs handle scrubbing)
Required Skills & Certifications- ACLS & BLS required
- Strong experience with moderate sedation
- Knowledge of sedation reversal agents
- Experience managing cardiac drips and cardiac medications
Technology & Equipment- EMR: Cerner
- Imaging system: Merge
Schedule & Call Requirements- Regular shift:
- Monday–Thursday | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Weeknight call:
- Mon–Thu | 5:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Weekend call:
- Friday–Sunday | 6:30 AM – 6:30 AM
- Holiday call: As needed
- Call response time:30 minutes
