Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5, occasionally 1:5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3
• Must have PCU experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with adults and geriatric patients including cardiac catheterizations, EP studies, pacers, ETOH cases, COVID BiPap, surgical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute on chronic conditions
• Float to all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, medical-surgical for full assignment, and some ER holds/boarding
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation (Friday and Saturday of first week)
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Profile review and manager interview required
• First to float on night shifts
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo systems

This acute care medical center operates as a Level 2 trauma facility providing comprehensive healthcare services to the region. The facility features a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown unit that specializes in telemetry and cardiac care, equipped with modern monitoring systems and respiratory equipment. The organization utilizes Epic electronic health records and maintains high standards for cardiac care with specialized services including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and pacemaker procedures.
