Job Details: Location: Near Harrisburg, PA Position Type: Locum Tenens Start Date: December 8, 2024 End Date: June 8, 2025 Coverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours with call responsibilities Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, focusing on both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as: Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, and variceal treatment. ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic), PEG placement, and esophageal dilatation. Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp removal. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and liver biopsy. Management of gastrointestinal bleeding and use of specialized tools such as the Sengstaken/Blakemore tube. Call responsibilities are required, with a focus on weekend coverage. Response time for beeper call must be within 30 minutes. Requirements: Board Certification: Must be board certified in Gastroenterology. Fellowship: Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship is required. Licensure: Must have a valid Pennsylvania medical license or be eligible through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). Certifications: ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Experience: Proficiency in various gastroenterology procedures, including ERCP, EUS, and advanced endoscopic techniques. Additional Information: Privileges: Temporary hospital privileges available, with an estimated credentialing timeframe of 90-120 days. Call Type: Beeper call, with a 30-minute response time.
