Job Details:
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population includes adults to geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH (ACLS and CPI preferred)
• Patient ratio of 1:6 across all shifts
• 34-bed unit with average daily census of 27 patients
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Floating within facility required
• No call requirements
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum 7 days requested time off allowed
• Holiday work requirements based on number of holidays during assignment
• Work with patient diagnoses including appendicitis, cholecystitis, small bowel obstruction, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, sepsis, HTN, and hypo/hyperglycemia
• Handle post-surgical patients including prostatectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, ostomy creation/reversal, exploratory laparoscopy, and bowel resections
• Work with equipment including NGT, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and wound vacs
• Use Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Orientation hours determined by contract length
• Full compliance required to start on time

This healthcare facility operates a 34-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients. The facility utilizes modern technology including Epic electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems. The organization offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
