Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg float position requiring trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Provide care as part of the MedSurg Staffing Resource Team (SRT) within a hospital
- Float between all MedSurg units including ED and PACU borders as needed
- Coverage may include Deceased Patient Coordinator (DPC) responsibilities
- Assigned to various units such as 1 East, 1 West, 2 West, 2&3 East, 3 West, 4 West, 5 West, ED, and PACU
- Rotating day/night schedule with 36 hours per week
- Care for Med/Surg patients including surgical and complex medical cases
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across multiple hospital units
- Potential responsibility for deceased patient coordination as needed
Requirements
- Active NH RN or compact RN license with proof of state residency
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
- Experience with chest tubes, lines/tubes/drains, complex wounds, and trachs/laryngectomies
- Experience administering drips such as diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone
- Telemetry monitoring and central line care/maintenance experience required
- Previous float experience highly preferred
- No local candidates; must live at least 75 miles from the facility
