The Garage Porter is responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of garages and surface lots, including vehicle damage inspections and assistance with snow removal in winter. They provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, addressing concerns, and maintaining a friendly and helpful attitude. The role requires physical activity such as lifting, walking, and bending throughout the shift to ensure the garage environment is safe and well-maintained.
The Spirit of the Position:
The Garage Porter ensures that assigned garages are maintained and cleaned daily. You will do vehicle damage inspections in the morning and clean garages & lots for the remainder of your shift. Occasional assistance with other locations, events, and other duties.
Principal Job Duties:
- Ensure garages are maintained and cleaned daily.
- Responsible for general maintenance of the garage and surface lots – sweeping and wiping down surfaces and equipment
- Assist maintenance employees with snow removal and garage upkeep during winter months
- Completing all checklist duties promptly
- Greet customers using their name, be responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution, display a caring attitude, and develop a rapport with the customer base.
- Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to always help.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
