Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Self-scheduling available with scheduler's right to rebalance schedule
• 3 weekend shifts required every 4 weeks
• Holiday work based on core staff rotation
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience
• 2 years ICU experience required in 600+ bed teaching facility
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• 2 shifts on-the-floor orientation
• Float requirements among all ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units
• May be required to float to St. Joseph Westgate campus
• Must have own vehicle for transportation
• Dress code: Navy scrubs
• Natural hair color required, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Work with common titratable and set rate drips
• Read and interpret own telemetry strips
• Care for patients in SICU/MICU/Trauma ICU units (40 beds per unit, 120 beds total)
• Handle various diagnoses including sepsis, trauma patients, transplant cases, and post-operative recovery
• Assist with bedside procedures including bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, and hemodialysis catheter placements
• Work with ventilator equipment including Cervo I, Jets, and Oscillators
• Use Cerner charting system
