What You’ll Do
As a substitute teacher, you’ll step into classrooms and help create a safe, joyful learning experience by:
- Implementing lesson plans and maintaining a positive classroom environment
- Supervising students with care, attention, and kindness
- Supporting classroom routines and reinforcing daily schedules
- Maintaining the classroom’s organization and welcoming appearance
- Building strong, respectful relationships with students and staff
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Completion of 12 semester or 18 quarter units in Early Childhood Education (including child development, family/community, and curriculum) or a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development
- Prior teaching experience with preschool or pre-K students (preferred)
- A patient and caring nature, with a strong desire to support young children
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
