The HVAC Operations & Maintenance Mechanic Apprentice performs pneumatic control system servicing and mechanical equipment maintenance under supervision, following a collective bargaining agreement. The role requires troubleshooting, responding to warranty calls, and maintaining communication with contractors and customers. Qualifications include a high school diploma, HVAC familiarity, EPA certification as a plus, and ability to work independently in industrial settings.
What you will do
Apprentices shall perform all pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and preventative maintenance of all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer, at the respective apprentice rate of pay, and shall perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer. Troubleshoots and resolves problems. Responds to basic warranty calls. Keeps JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.
What we look for
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of experience
Familiarity with HVAC equipment
EPA Refrigeration certification a plus
The ability to perform general building maintenance
The ability to work in an industrial environment
Self-starter with ability to work independently
This position requires a current driver's license
Willingness to supplement on-the-job training with training provided by Local
2 year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
This is a Bargaining Unit Position
Pay Range: $18.04-$21.65 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
