Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in Illinois requiring EPIC and Level 1 trauma experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital-based Cath Lab working with adult patients
- Responsible for procedures including peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, embolization (arterial/venous), venous thrombectomy, and neuro procedures (preferred)
- Works 4x9 hour day shifts, 7:30AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday
- Uses EPIC for charting and documentation
- Works as part of a 3-4 staff team including RNs and Radiology Technologists
- Responsible for hemodynamic monitoring, moderate sedation administration, arrhythmia recognition, and appropriate clinical interventions
- Participates in departmental quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and provides patient/family education and support
- Works in a supportive and collaborative team environment
- RTO capped at 7 days for each 13-week contract
- Returning travelers cannot exceed one year of continuous assignment and require a six-month break before returning
- No travel partners are accepted for this assignment
- Scrubs in accordance with hospital policy
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license or temporary license in good standing is required
- Minimum of one year acute Cath Lab nursing experience, with at least three years of relevant nursing experience preferred
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS from American Heart Association
- Experience with Level 1 trauma hospital procedures is required
- Experience documenting in EPIC EMR is required
- ASN degree required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
