Dates of Coverage: Starting mid-December 2025 and ongoing until a permanent physician is hired.
Practice Setting: Primarily inpatient coverage.
Call structure at MMC: approximately 1:4
Call schedule: Friday 4 p.m. - Friday 4 p.m.
Responsibilities include floor, ED, ICU, emergent consults, and endoscopies (as needed)
Beeper coverage overnight
Outpatient responsibilities TBD (confirmation expected soon)
Reason for Coverage: Physician retirement
Clinical Areas: Adult Gastroenterology, Hospital-based care, Endoscopy

Laboratory - Yes
X-Ray - Yes
Outpatient/Internal Medicine Requirement: None
Patient Volumes:
Hospital: 4-12 patients per day
Outpatient: TBD
Team Structure: 4 physicians in group
EMR: EPIC
Credentialing Timeline: Anticipated start mid-to-late December
EUS/ERCP: Not required
Required Procedures:Upper GI Endoscopy Procedures (Required):With biopsy
With foreign body removal
With fulguration of bleeder (cautery or laser)
With injection or banding of varices
Diagnostic and therapeutic
With PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
Qualifications:Board Certified or Board Eligible (Board Certified preferred)
Active Massachusetts medical license (required)
BLS certification (required)
ERCP certification preferred but not required
No outpatient expectations
