Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) provide anesthesia care to patients across all age groups excluding neonates, primarily performing procedures such as intubation and line placements in non-operating room settings. They work closely under the supervision of attending anesthesiologists, often supporting residents and managing cases in orthopedic, trauma, vascular, and neuro specialties. This role requires active licensure, certification, and experience, with a preferred schedule of 4x10 hour shifts and no weekend or on-call duties.

Duration: 26 Weeks (Approx. 6 Months)
Credentialing: 90 Days
On-Call: None
Schedule & Availability:
- 4x10s preferred (6:30 AM 5:30 PM with 30-min unpaid lunch)
- Must be available 3 weeks per month
- No weekends, no call
- Alternate schedules considered: 5x10s, 3x12s, 4x12s, 5x12s
Patient Details & Procedures:
- Average census: 1 9 patients/day
- Age range: Infants through geriatrics (excluding neonatal)
- Required procedures: Intubation, central line placement, arterial line placement
- Required to work NORA (Non-Operating Room Anesthesia) cases
- No OB coverage required
Case Types:
- Ortho, trauma, vascular, neuro (no cardiac)
- EMR: Epic
Supervision & Staffing:
- CRNAs are medically directed (2:1 or 3:1)
- Supervised by attending anesthesiologist (focused on teaching residents in a parallel OR)
- Support: Anesthesia Techs and anesthesiologists
Requirements:
- Active Kentucky CRNA license (or willingness to obtain)
- NBCRNA certification required
- Minimum 1 year of CRNA experience (No new grads)
