Job Details:
• Work night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• First to float when needed based on census and staffing levels
• Must have recent charge nurse experience from last assignment
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Manager interviews required
• 3 weeks of orientation provided: 1 week classroom followed by 2 weeks unit orientation
• Blend of charge nurse, clinical mentor, and manager responsibilities
• Provide on-shift leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, and compassionate patient care
• Round on patients and address service or safety concerns
• Serve as resource for both clinical and interpersonal issues
• Take charge nurse assignments as needed based on census and staffing
• Support staff and promote positive work environment
• Use Cerner charting system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS - AHA or APEX
• License verification required for submission
• BSN not required
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments
