Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift pediatric oncology position requiring Peds IMC/PICU experience and the APHON chemo/biotherapy provider certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 20-bed pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant unit
- Patient population includes pediatric oncology patients from newborn up to 25 years of age
- Unit also cares for general med-surg pediatric patients if needed
- Care involves solid tumors, leukemia, hematologic malignancies, blood and bone marrow transplants, infusion therapy, and clinical trials
- Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Required to work every other weekend
- Holidays covered as needed by the unit, typically every other holiday
- No call requirement for travelers
- Uses Epic EMR, including Ambulatory Nurse and Beacon Nurse modules
- Provide comprehensive care for pediatric oncology and BMT patients, including those undergoing infusion, biotherapy, or chemotherapy
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are considered at the same rate except where specifically restricted
- Orientation dates are available throughout November and December
- Team environment with exposure to clinical trials and advanced oncologic treatments
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license
- Current certifications: BLS and PALS
- APHON chemo/biotherapy provider course/certificate required
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience in an IMC or PICU setting
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in hospitals with over 500 beds
