About the Clinician's Workday

This CRNA opportunity typically involves working in an ACT model, but there is also the chance to run your own cases. Schedules vary and may include 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week; call-back hours count toward the 40-hour total. CRNAs work autonomously, performing regionals and OB (including C-sections), and they participate in trauma care while taking beeper call. One CRNA works in-house for OB and one is on beeper backup, with one MD also on beeper backup daily. Locum CRNAs handle backup beeper call only, approximately on a 1:4 ratio, and work a post-call day. Charting is done in Cerner. The case mix includes a level 3 trauma center with general, orthopedic, major vascular, neuro, thoracic, trauma, pediatric, OB, GYN, and endoscopy cases. When fully staffed, there are 9-10 CRNAs and 4-5 MDs.
