American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/Cardiac Procedure Center position with EPIC experience and strong cardiac prep/recovery skills.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Cardiac Procedure Center, Prep Recovery Area of a short-term acute care hospital
- Patient population includes pre and post cardiac cath, TEE, EP, and peripheral vascular cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3
- 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, Monday through Friday with no weekends, holidays, or on-call required
- Shifts are 0600-1830, 0600-1830 late, and 0800-2030 close, with one closing shift required weekly
- EPIC charting experience is required
- Floating within scope is required based on facility needs
- Participate in prepping and recovering cardiac cath, TEE, EP, and peripheral vascular patients
- Perform post procedure care including sheath removal, TR band use, accessing ports, administering blood products, phlebotomy, and IV management
- Manage cardiac drips with and without titration and use of oxygen therapy devices
- No local candidates accepted; must live at least 75 miles from the facility
- RTO (requested time off) is restricted to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract and not permitted during orientation week
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Scrubs are provided
- Parking options are available for a fee
- Active MO or compact RN license required; pending license is accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a cardiac procedure center prep recovery area
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
- Experience required in cardiac catheterizations, stent placement, electrophysiology, and vascular procedures
- Proficiency with tele monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, sheath removal, and vascular access
- Experience with Epic EMR is required
