This position is for a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterology Physician to provide inpatient hospital coverage at a Massachusetts medical center starting mid-December 2025. The role involves inpatient care including endoscopies, gastrointestinal procedures, and emergent consults with a call schedule of approximately 1:4. Candidates must hold an active Massachusetts medical license and have experience with procedures such as colonoscopy, esophageal manometry, and liver biopsy.

- Other Details: A facility is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician to provide coverage due to a provider s retirement. The role involves caring for adult, hospital-based patients with gastroenterology and endoscopy needs. Onsite lab and X-ray services are available. Outpatient gastroenterology and internal medicine coverage are not required. The locum can expect to see approximately 4 12 hospital-based patients per day, with a team of four physicians. The anticipated start date is mid to late December. Required procedures include esophageal dilatation/manometry, esophageal manometry interpretation, small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy. Required upper GI endoscopy procedures include diagnostic and therapeutic scopes, with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery or laser), injection and banding of varices, and PEG placement. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and hold a current BLS certification. ERCP certification is preferred but not required.
