Emergency Medicine Physician Job Details
- Location: New Ulm, MN Southern Minnesota
- Practice Setting: Hospital/Medical Center Single Coverage Emergency Room
- Contract Length: Ongoing locum tenens contract, starting March 9, 2026 (MN license required)
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am), mix of days and nights
- Shifts per Month: 6-8 shifts per month
- Hospital Bed Size: 11
- Patient Census: 15-25 patients per shift, all ages
- EMR: EPIC
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (preferred), or Family Practice with significant emergency department experience
- Active Minnesota medical license
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in emergency medicine, preferably at community hospital sites
- DEA registration
- Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS or CALS
- Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in Minnesota or neighboring states
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a single coverage ER
- Efficiently manage a busy patient load with seasonal fluctuations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RT, Psych, Teleintensivist, Ortho, Gen Surg, OB/GYN, CRNA, and mid-level providers
- Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate documentation and patient management
- Participate in hospital orientation and credentialing processes
