Description
Leidos is seeking a Chemist to provide synthesis, characterization, and analysis of energetic materials support to DEVCOM Armaments Center in Picatinny Arsenal, NJ.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and execute synthesis and characterization of novel energetic materials and precursor materials.
- Apply advanced manufacturing techniques (continuous flow chemistry for example), process development tools (EZ Max), and process analytical tools to develop efficient synthetic processes
- Work in a laboratory setting operating various analytical instruments performing routine analysis and new method development of energetic materials analyses.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry
- 10+ years of relevant experience, specifically with energetic materials synthesis, characterization, and analysis
- Demonstrated experience in multi-step synthesis and spectral methods to establish chemical structures
- Proficiency in spectral analysis, operating continuous flow reactors, conducting process development utilizing EZ max reactors
- Proven track record of synthesis, analysis and problem solving
- US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance if required

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
