American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown (CPU) travel assignment with night shifts and telemetry skills required.
Responsibilities- Position is within a stepdown unit (Cardiac Progressive Unit/CPU) in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule, working 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
- Patient population involves telemetry monitoring and intermediate to advanced cardiac care
- EMR system used is Cerner
- Royal blue scrubs are required (not provided)
- Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, performing cardiac assessments, and advanced interventions appropriate to the stepdown level
- Minimal RTO (requested time off) allowed and must be requested in advance, especially around holidays
- Orientation modules (up to 8 hours) are required and must be completed before starting the assignment through HealthStream
- First-time travelers are welcome but previous travel experience is preferred
- The team environment supports collaborative patient care with a focus on advanced monitoring
- Holiday and every other weekend shifts are mandatory
- Active GA or compact RN license required prior to start (no pending licenses accepted without proof of process)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
- Minimum 3 years recent stepdown experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry, intermediate/advanced cardiac care, and IV start skills required
- Previous travel RN experience preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Driver’s License and proof of residence needed to determine travel or local rate eligibility
- Travelers must live more than 30 miles from the facility; local rate applies for residence within 31-50 miles
