Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide care in a Trauma Center with ER beds
- Manage a diverse patient population: approximately 5 percent trauma, 50 percent pediatrics, and 35 percent geriatrics
- Perform all lifesaving procedures including intubation, extubation, and ventilation management
- Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations
- Lead and respond to emergency codes
- Coordinate patient transfers and admissions according to established protocols
- Collaborate with specialists and referral centers as needed
- Adhere to OB and transfer/admit protocols
Additional Information
- Texas medical license required
- Trauma and rural health emergency experience preferred
- Must be comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine in a rural setting
