American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for an inpatient acute care hospital assignment.
Responsibilities- Position is based in a short-term acute care hospital with primary focus on inpatient care
- Therapy services are provided across medicine, surgery, orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and oncology units
- Monday through Friday day shifts, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with flexible start time up to 8:00 am
- Required to work one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during a 4-week period with a compensatory day off during that week
- Clinician may float within the full therapy service lines as needed
- No on-call shifts are required
- EMR system is Epic; experience may be required for certain units
- Primary responsibilities include assessments, patient/family education, documentation, and safety & injury prevention
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Travelers must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed within a 13-week contract
- No time off allowed in the first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as travelers
- Scrub color is black or grey
- Parking options and info will be provided during orientation
- Minimum of 1 year recent acute care physical therapy experience required
- Current state PT license required if applicable; pending state license considered for Illinois
- BLS certification required
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work with a variety of patient populations
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred or required for some departments
