Urgent Coverage Need: Seeking two NNPs to cover a three-month maternity leave, from February 16, 2026, to June 7, 2026.
Unique Shift Structure: Shifts are 24-hour call, with 8 hours required on-site for clinic/rounding. After the 8 hours, providers may take call off-site but must return if called in.
Schedule: You will provide five (5) 24-hour shifts every two weeks (approximately 10 shifts per month). The facility is open to providers offering more availability.
Independent Practice: This role requires significant independent clinical experience as the NNP will be working autonomously.
Scope of Practice: Support both the Level I Newborn Nursery and Level II Special Care Nursery (SCN), including newborn assessments, delivery attendance, respiratory management, and care coordination.
EMR System: The facility uses EPIC for all charting.
Privileging: Full and temporary privileges are available, with an estimated credentialing time of 60 days.

Key Responsibilities

Provide independent clinical coverage for the Level I Newborn Nursery and Level II Special Care Nursery.
Be on-site for 8 hours daily to cover clinic and rounding duties.
Be available for telephone call and callback for the remaining 16 hours of the shift (must return if called in).
Perform newborn assessments, attend deliveries, manage respiratory care, and coordinate care with the perinatal team.

Provider Requirements

Credential: Nurse Practitioner (NP).
Board Status: Board Certified.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an NNP is required.
Licensure: An active Illinois State License is REQUIRED. The facility will not consider IMLC candidates.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required.

Start Date

The target start date is February 16, 2026.
