ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Medical Oncologist to provide outpatient-focused oncology and hematology care. This role is primarily centered on lung cancer management, with a secondary focus on general and benign hematology, within a multidisciplinary cancer program. The physician will work alongside a robust team of oncologists and APPs, with shared call responsibilities.
Dates / ScheduleStart Date: ASAP
Clinic Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Call Coverage:
Shared call pool (1:5)
Weekday evenings: telephone call
Weekends: rounding with APP support
Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days
Provide outpatient oncology and hematology care to adult and geriatric patients
Primary clinical focus on lung cancer, with secondary responsibility for general/benign hematology patients not assigned to other subspecialists
Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards
See approximately 8 16 outpatient clinic patients per day
Provide call and rounding coverage with an average inpatient census of 22 patients across two hospitals, including 4 5 new patients
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
Prescribe treatments and coordinate chemotherapy administration (administered by oncology nursing staff)
Practice setting details:
Outpatient cancer center
Level 2 trauma center affiliation
EMR: Epic
Supported by a team of 6 physicians and 10 APPs (inpatient and outpatient)
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Medical Oncology Required
Active Michigan medical license Highly preferred (willing to consider providers needing to obtain MI license)
BLS certification Required
Ability to perform FNA and biopsy procedures
Clean malpractice history and no background issues Required
Current NPDB report (pulled within the last 30 days, or within 90 days) required for submission
Experience working in a multidisciplinary oncology environment preferred
