Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical / Adult Med-Surg Unit on variable shifts (days or nights, TBD). This contract role requires strong clinical skills, flexibility with scheduling, and the ability to provide high-quality care to adult patients in an acute care environment.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 15 weeks
- Shift: Variable (Days or Nights, TBD)
- Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week following completion of orientation
- Flexibility Required: Variable shift lengths and workdays; no guaranteed hours or shift preference
- Holiday Coverage: Required
- Holiday RTO: Not permitted
Key Responsibilities
- Provide RN-level medical/surgical care to patients 18 years and older
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and implement treatment plans
- Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes
- Accurately document patient care using the facility’s EMR system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Medical / Adult Med-Surg
- Bed Capacity: 50 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1 RN : 5 patients
Equipment & Technology
- Meditech EMR
- Pyxis medication dispensing system
- Wound vac systems
- Chest tubes
Floating Requirements
- May float to Surgical Pediatrics or Transitional Care Units as needed
Orientation & Training
- Unit-specific orientation included during the first week
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg or higher-level acute care experience
- License:
- Active Hawaii RN license required by assignment start
- Candidates without an active HI license must apply upon offer acceptance
- Certifications:
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Must complete employee health clearance prior to beginning assignment
Dress Code
- Professional nursing attire
- No specific scrub color requirements
- Closed-toe shoes required

- Candidate must arrive prior to assignment start to complete employee health clearance and onboarding requirements
