American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Intermediate Care position caring for adults with critical and progressive needs requiring advanced cardiac and ventilator management.
Responsibilities- Work in an Intermediate Intensive Care Unit (IMC/IICU) within a hospital setting
- Cares for adult trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology patients requiring interventions every 1–2 hours
- Patient ratio is 1:3
- Uses specialized equipment including Hercules patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps
- Night shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- Required to work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required
- Epic EMR is used with 1 year of Epic experience required
- Manage direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams
- Must be proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and telemetry monitoring
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for night shift travel assignments; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
- Two professional references are required for consideration
- All requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application and are subject to approval
- Active SC or compact state RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- At least 2 years of RN experience, with previous IICU or ICU experience and ability to manage 1:3 acuity required
- Experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and ventilator management required
- Prior titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
- 1 year of recent Epic charting experience required
- For first-time travelers, 3 years’ specialty experience and critical care background required
- Will consider Progressive Care, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown experience based on acuity
