Nursing Position in Intermediate Care Unit
Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule12-hour night shifts, with a requirement for weekends and holidays as needed. Nurses must be ready to start at 6:45 PM, and shifts run from 7 PM to 7 AM. Each nurse is expected to work a minimum of 4 weekend night shifts over a 4-week schedule.
Job DescriptionThis nursing role is within the Intermediate Care Unit, providing care for patients with conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and those post-procedure. Nurses will work with a team that includes a charge nurse and clinical assistants.
Responsibilities- Provide care for up to 5 patients at a time, with occasional ratios of 1:6.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips when necessary.
- Titrate various medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin.
- Participate in the management of high-flow respiratory equipment and collaborate with the respiratory therapy team.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NIHSS certification.
- Must have an unexpired driver’s license and be willing to disclose any licensing hits upon submission.
