Med/Surg RN Job Details- Location: Pocatello, Idaho (83201) – Idaho healthcare jobs
- Unit: Med/Surg Floor 4A
- Assignment Type: Travel nursing contract
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 48 beds, average daily census of 44
- Weekend Coverage: Required (2 per pay period, flexible scheduling)
- Orientation: 24 hours onsite
- 100-mile radius rule: Must reside at least 100 miles from facility
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Active RN license in Idaho
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Experience with Epic EMR charting preferred
- Ability to manage patient ratios of 5-7
- Proficient in Med/Surg nursing skills: IV and central line care, wound care, blood product administration, tracheostomy care, chest tube management, feeding tube care
- Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking abilities
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Respond rapidly to life-threatening situations with appropriate interventions
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and more)
- Prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain professional development and clinical competencies
- Adapt to evolving patient safety protocols and departmental needs
