The Shipping Lead Person oversees and leads second shift shipping operations in a manufacturing environment, focusing on safety, quality, production, and efficiency. Responsibilities include training employees, managing shipping and receiving functions, monitoring KPIs, and promoting continuous improvement and lean practices. The role requires experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings and skills in systems like QAD and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and training to accomplish Mauser production objectives to all employees for Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, and Maintenance.
- May conduct and/or participate in safety meetings. Conducts DuPont STOP observations to identify safety issues and follows-up as necessary with appropriate team members.
- Works with Shipping Supervisor to ensure vacancies are covered for any planned/unplanned.
- Establishes and monitors shift performance for safety, quality, and production standards.
- Enter shipping data accurately into system; to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.
- Updates communication boards to keep production floor team members informed about safety, quality and efficiency metrics.
- Works with other team members to control and improve efficiency, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses.
- Promotes shop floor organization, plant housekeeping with employees lean utilizing techniques such as 5S with shift personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to successfully perform all shipping/receiving functions to include non-cdl spotter duties.
- Ability to complete the shipping/receiving paperwork duties to include bill of landing, shipment verifications, driver, inventory, and quality control audits.
- Ability to successfully communicate using the company email system for the material handling departmental requirements.
Requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing environment; preferably a warehouse, packaging or injection molding environment.
- Knowledge of QAD system, and the ability to work efficiently with the Microsoft Office.
- Embraces continuous improvement.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus.
- Self-directed team player.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work multiple shifts.
The pay rate for this position is $24.05 per hour
