The Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner provides full-time care to pediatric patients at Piedmont Columbus Children's Hospital, including those in general pediatrics and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Responsibilities include examining, evaluating, treating patients, collaborating with physicians and care teams, performing bedside procedures, and communicating care plans to families. The role requires 2-3 years of pediatric or PICU experience and appropriate state licensure and national certification.
Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Piedmont Columbus Children s Hospital as a full-time provider.
In this role you will:
• Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries on the general pediatrics floor as well as our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient s medical record.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Collaborate with the on-call physician for the overnight care of the pediatric patient with the physician on call for urgent needs.
• Collaborate with the care team on the floor and the PICU to oversee and participate on care of the general and intensive pediatric patient.
• Ability to handle cross cover calls and assist with admissions.
• Communicate clearly the plan of care to the patient s family or caregivers as needed about the pediatric patient s condition or treatment plan.
• Provide overnight care supporting admissions from the Pediatric Emergency Room, the General Pediatric floor and/or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Initiate and/or assist in bedside procedures as directed by the physician to facilitate and expedite patient care.

Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of Pediatric or PICU experience with a high degree of clinical judgment
Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification
