A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse Practitioner provides specialized care to critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients, including those with heart failure and post-operative cardiac conditions. They manage invasive lines, ventilators, and cardiac catheterization cases in a high-acuity PCICU inpatient setting, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary care teams. The role involves working with electronic medical records (Epic) and supporting a patient population primarily composed of pediatric and neonatal patients with some adult congenital cases.
Contract Length : 6 months
Schedule : 3, Day 12 Hours (minimum 4 shifts a month)
Clinic details
Practice Setting : PCICU inpatient setting
Patient Volume : 17-18 per day
Patient Population : Majority peds, neonatal(8 beds), 8% of total population is adult congenital
Support Staff : 2 teams, each with: 1 attending, 3 NP, 1 fellow
Cases/Procedures : a significant heart failure population, patients on vents, patients who are pre & post op, patients with cardiac catherization. IVs & arterial lines
