The Ultrasound Sonographer performs cardiac ultrasound procedures including transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echoes, as well as noninvasive cardiac testing like electrocardiograms and Holter monitor applications. They are responsible for patient care, preliminary interpretation reports, equipment operation, policy updates, and participation in staff education and quality assurance. Certification in cardiac ultrasound and completion of accredited training are required to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and effective job performance.
