The Day Shift Pit Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating heavy front-end loaders to feed the plant and load trucks efficiently in a quarry environment. The role requires performing equipment inspections, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with other quarry operations. Candidates must have mechanical aptitude, safety awareness, and be able to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions.

What You'll Be Doing
Operate a front-end loader to feed the plant and load trucks safely and efficiently
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Monitor material quality and communicate with team members to ensure production goals
Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards
Assist with other quarry operations as needed
What Are We Looking For
Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy equipment in a production environment
Strong awareness of safety protocols and hazard recognition
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Willingness to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check
Work Environment
Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
Physical Demands of the Job
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively
Must be able to work in uneven terrain and confined spaces
Tolerance for exposure to dust, vibration, and other typical quarry conditions
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods
