• Tier 2: Mid-Level Mechanical / Maintenance Technician

SUMMARY:

• A mid-level technician with experience in mechanical systems, electrical basics, and maintenance of industrial equipment. This role is expected to work more independently, handle conveyor systems, and troubleshoot mechanical issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyor systems (belts, rollers, motors, drives, pulleys).
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and mechanical linkage issues (motors, bearings, belts).
• Replace bearings, belts, motors, pulleys, and other mechanical parts.
• Perform alignments, tensioning, belt tracking, and basic diagnostics.
• Interface with controls, sensors, limited PLC or automation systems (if applicable).
• Maintain maintenance schedules, logs, spare parts inventory, and documentation.
• Mentor or support entry-level technicians.
• Evaluate root causes of recurring failures and propose improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, perform lockout/tagout, maintain and enforce safety protocol.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2–5 years of mechanical / maintenance experience, preferably in industrial or warehouse settings.
• Experience working on conveyors, belt systems, motors, gearboxes, rollers.
• Electrical knowledge (AC motors, wiring, sensors) is a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics.
• Independent troubleshooting skills, good judgment.
• Strong documentation skills, ability to maintain logs and reports.
• Safety mindset and ability to work under pressure.
• Growth Path: Can progress to Senior / Tier 3, lead maintenance projects, design improvements, take leadership of mechanical team.

• Working independently or in a team to pick, pack, and ship items
• Safely relocating or repacking inventory items as directed, up to 50 pounds in weight
• Operating machinery or other light equipment as trained in a safe and responsible manner
• Reaching, crouching, bending over, and other physically strenuous activities as required by the immediate supervisor
• Working on your feet at a fast pace for the entirety of the shift
• Comfortable working in an environment where there are forklifts, machinery, large trucks, and other standard or sub-standard warehouse equipment
• There may be a specific dress code, but if it is not listed, please make sure to wear close-toed shoes and pants.
