The role also involves coordinating inmate medical care, counseling, discipline, and maintaining detailed logs and reports.
Description
- The purpose of the position is to direct, supervise and train inmate work-program crews, oversee the care and custody of all inmates, and ensure the security and safety of the public, staff and inmates. This is accomplished by planning, organizing and directing the safe and secure operations of inmate work crews; providing oversight of inmate custody related to housing, movement, feeding, discipline, programs and activities; training and guiding inmates to develop marketable work skill sets, habits, traits and attitudes; providing appropriate incarceration related information and medical care; and coordinating with the watch commander to ensure that inmates receive appropriate medical treatment, counseling, and discipline. Other duties include completing logs and reports based on activities and observations.
