Key Responsibilities:
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles as required.
- Providing direct patient care in the operating room by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs and responses.
- Ensuring safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and efficient care for all patients.
- Collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed or according to standard protocols, and documenting all interventions.
- Identifying and addressing patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the care episode.
- Supervising and mentoring LPNs and non-licensed personnel in clinical settings.
- Completing necessary education and competency testing specific to patient populations and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years current experience in a large operating room setting.
- Ability to scrub in surgical procedures.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
- Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred, with ability to obtain on-site if needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system is a plus (training available).
- Experience in orthopedics, ENT, or vascular surgery is a plus.
