Job Details:
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs
• Weekend work required (Friday-Sunday; 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• On-call and holiday work required per staff rotation
• First to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location
• One week orientation during first week of contract, not to exceed 40 total hours
• EPIC training included in orientation
• Scrubs required and provided by facility
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Minimum two years current experience required in cardiothoracic surgery
• Must be able to scrub and work as part of surgical team
• Must be flexible and accustomed to fast-paced environment
• Minimal congenital pediatrics may be required
• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Complete patient population/age-specific/procedure education and competency testing
• Required certifications: State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License, BLS through AHA, AHS, or ARC
• Preferred certifications: PALS and ACLS
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• EPIC experience preferred but not required
