The position is for a full-time Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Northern Maine, delivering compassionate care to a diverse community. The role involves outpatient and inpatient care, collaboration with mid-level providers, participation in marketing OB/GYN services, and surgical responsibilities. The practice is designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center, providing enhanced access to health care services for all members of the community, and allowing the practice to employ providers holding H-1B and J-1 visas.
For over 20 years Health Center has provided care to a service area population numbering about 35,000 people. Health Center has a dedicated, volunteer Board of Directors, and strong, supportive relationships with the Medical Center. Health Center's providers are active members of the Hospital's Medical Staff.
Practice Characteristics
" The successful candidate will join two OB/GYN's, and two Certified Nurse Midwives in providing compassionate, high-quality care to obstetrical and gynecological patients drawn from multiple communities.
" The leader of deliveries, north of Bangor Maine, with over 200 deliveries annually
" High-risk mothers and neonates are referred for delivery to Medical Center in Bangor.
" The Women's & Children's Health Center is located downstairs from the Medical Center, providing inside access within minutes to the labor/delivery/postpartum unit of the hospital.
" Hospital's OB unit and team are award winning and have a well-earned reputation as the warmest, friendliest and most desirable place to deliver babies north of Bangor. For the 6th year, Hospital earned the 2021 Women's Choice Award as one of America's Best Hospitals for Patient Experience.
" Specialists available in offices include urology, orthopedic and general surgery, and ophthalmology.
" Access to Medical Center outpatient clinics including diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy
Expectations - provide high quality, compassionate and efficient outpatient and inpatient care. The successful candidate will be able to work closely and effectively with mid-level providers, be able to participate in marketing the OB/Gyn programs to increase volumes and be interested in continuing to advance the use of technology and techniques in gynecologicalsurgical care.
The Opportunity:
" Status: Full-time: 40 - 45 hours/week, including operating room time
" Patients: Community profile includes a sizeable population of women for whom gynecological surgical procedures and urodynamic testing are becoming increasingly important.
" On-Call Rotation - 1:3
Qualifications of Applicants:
Board Certified or board eligible
Allopathic and osteopathic physicians will be considered equally
American born and trained physicians and foreign-born physicians who have completed a US residency and/or fellowship will be considered equally. H-1B and J-1 candidates can be considered.
In-practice physicians, residents or fellows, and military-trained physicians will be considered equally
