American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position in New Jersey, requiring BLS and PALS with a minimum of two years PICU critical care experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting
- Patient population includes critically ill pediatric patients, with potential cardiac cases
- 19-bed PICU unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:2 or higher
- Required to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed, with possible floating to other units based on skill set
- Day shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 to 19:30, with every other weekend required
- Use of Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, ventilators, BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannulas, and tracheostomy care
- EMR is Epic, with experience required
- Provide specialized and critical care to pediatric patients in the ICU
- May care for patients on advanced respiratory support or with congenital heart conditions
- Must wear navy blue scrubs while on assignment
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- All schedule and RTO requests must be confirmed prior to consideration
- Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required, with NRP preferred
- Two or more years of recent PICU critical care nursing experience required
- At least one year of recent pediatric cardiac experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with Medtronic pacemakers, telemetry monitoring, ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP, high flow, and trach care is required
- Epic charting experience required
- First time travelers are not accepted
- Returning employees must have been away from the health system for a minimum of one year
