Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Tele Float Pool is responsible for providing care to patients across MedSurg Tele, PCU, and inpatient holding in the ED. The RN must be adaptable to different units and shifts, managing a variety of drips and patient care activities according to unit requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in MedSurg Tele and PCU units, including managing post-procedural and cardiac patients.
- Administer and titrate various drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, and Insulin.
- Interpret and monitor ECG strips accurately.
- Coordinate with charge nurses, who will not take patient assignments.
- Participate in a rotational holiday schedule with permanent staff.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Must be able to pass a dysrhythmia exam with an 80% score within two attempts.
- Comfortable managing drips such as Amiodarone, Nitro, and Dopamine.
- Compliance with scrub color/dress code policies.
