CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Registered Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist: ARRT-R or RCIS
- Licenses: BLS, ACLS (must be current and valid at time of assignment)
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Join a prestigious Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital with 874 licensed beds, recognized as a Magnet-designated facility, and home to a Chest Pain and Stroke Center. As a Cath Lab Tech at Advocate Southeast, you will play a vital role in supporting complex cardiac and vascular procedures, contributing to life-saving patient care with a dynamic team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist during cardiac catheterizations including NON-STEMI, STEMI, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitral Clip procedures.
- Support vascular cases such as lower extremity angiograms, EVAR, and TEVAR procedures.
- Ensure optimal patient care by preparing the lab environment and managing equipment.
- Support departmental operations as a traffic flow coordinator, including scheduling and staffing.
- Act as charge tech when needed and collaborate with VAD, RT, ECMO, and code teams for emergency responses.
- Maintain and operate advanced imaging and hemodynamic equipment such as Philips, GE, Siemens labs, and Merge Hemo system.
- Document accurately in EPIC EMR, including pre/post-procedure notes and pressor management.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1 year of prior Cath Lab experience, with vascular and endograft experience highly preferred.
- Proven ability to work with vascular surgeons and experience in IR or endovascular labs.
- Strong knowledge of hemodynamics, vascular access, and IV management.
- Experience with complex procedures like TAVR, Watchman, Mitral Clip, EVAR, and TEVAR.
- Ability to support department operations, including scheduling and team coordination.
