Position Summary: Seeking an experienced Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) with at least one year of experience in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. This opportunity involves hospital rounding, assisting in both elective and emergent surgeries, and supporting the clinic. Qualified candidates must hold an Ohio medical license and meet certification requirements.
Position Details:
- Location: Near Hammondsville, OH
- Dates: Initial coverage from December 24, 2024 (7:00 am) to January 7, 2025 (7:00 am), with potential for ongoing or full-time placement.
- Schedule: 24-hour shift rotation, including weekends and holidays.
- On-Call Requirements: Nights and weekends, with 24-hour call duties.
Primary Duties:
- Provide perioperative and postoperative patient care, including hospital rounding, surgical support, and clinical assistance.
- Perform and assist in required procedures, including Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), thoracic and vascular surgeries.
- Conduct vein and artery harvesting, and manage postoperative tasks such as removal of chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, and intra-aortic balloon pumps.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Active Ohio PA license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) with Letter of Qualification (LOQ).
- Certifications: NCCPA, ACLS, and DEA are required.
- Background: Clean background and malpractice history are mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in vein and artery harvesting and postoperative device removal (e.g., chest tubes, epicardial wires).
Additional Information:
- Electronic Medical Records: Experience with Meditech and eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred.
- Support Staff: Collaboration with clinic staff and office supervisor.
- Travel and Lodging: Reimbursement for actual travel expenses, capped at specified rates for air travel, rental cars, and mileage.
