American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 3 years of cath lab experience, including STEMI and high-risk coronary interventions.
Responsibilities- Position is based in a Level 1 trauma acute care setting in a Cardiac Cath Lab
- The unit has 6 suites/labs with an average of 18 cases per day
- Patient population includes coronary and neuro cases, with a focus on high-risk coronary interventions
- Duties include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating for cardiac and neuro-interventional procedures
- Applicants may be floated to EP or IR as needed
- Uses Epic and McKesson charting systems, with Epic experience preferred
- Standard schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts per week with a start time of 0700 or 0830 as assigned
- Weekend and holiday call required, including 4 weekends during the 13-week assignment
- Call response time is 30 minutes
- Responsibilities include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating for both coronary and neuro interventions
- Five shifts of department-specific orientation provided during the first week
- Negative drug screen for all panels required prior to start due to drug-free campus policy
- Scrubs are provided
- A supervisor or charge technologist is available during operating hours (0600-1630 M-F)
- Covid vaccine is not required
- Local candidates within 50 miles are considered at a local pay rate
- No radius rule applies
- Minimum of 3 years of recent cath lab technologist experience required
- Must have experience in high-risk coronary and STEMI intervention scrubbing
- Must be able to scrub and circulate a STEMI
- Willingness to learn neuro-interventional circulating and monitoring for call shifts
- Current ARRT RT(R), BLS (AHA), and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - ARRT (R) required
- Active Illinois license required or confirmation that application process has been initiated (license required if applicable)
- All licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration
